Details of the Neston Christmas Lights Switch-On Event, Saturday 29th November
This year’s Neston Christmas Lights celebration will once again be community-led and funded by Neston Town Council. Events shall be taking place in Neston Town Hall, the Brook Street Community Office, Neston Community Youth Centre, and Neston Civic Hall, culminating with the switching on of the lights at The Cross at 5.15pm. Events and activities at all locations will be free of charge.
The town centre cafés have been encouraged to stay open late so that visitors can warm up after the switch-on and some will be offering special festive menus.
Neston Town Hall
The Town Hall reception will become a festive forest of themed Christmas trees decorated by various community groups who have received funding from Neston Town Council in recent years. This Christmas Tree Festival will continue until Christmas week and details of opening times will be published on Neston Town Council’s website: nestontowncouncil.gov.uk.
The Town Hall is also set to host a variety of activities from 1.00pm-5.00pm celebrating Christmas throughout the ages. Visitors will have the opportunity to create their own traditional decorations and a food historian will be producing a regal Tudor feast complete with tastings.

Santa’s Grotto
Santa will be taking up temporary residence in the Brook Street Community Office, and Santa’s visitors will be entertained by characters from Little Actors Theatre Company reading festive tales.
Neston Community Youth Centre
There will be a range of activities at NCYC from 1pm-4pm including, Lantern-making workshops, origami workshops, rock painting, a treasure hunt and a hot chocolate station. Neston Civic Hall
There will be a free showing of Arthur Christmas at Neston Civic Hall starting at 1pm, and there will be a Christmas Celebration in the evening from 6pm to 8pm. Tickets for both can be booked via the NCYC website: ncyc.charity/event-details/christmas-in-neston-2025.
The Finale
Everyone will gather at The Cross at 5.15pm to listen to Neston Samba Pirates and await the arrival of Santa and his helpers to switch on the lights and mark the beginning of Neston’s 2025 Christmas celebrations.
