Ling Peng is a storyteller and one of the UK’s best-known players of the erhu, an ancient, captivating and highly expressive instrument that summons the soul of Chinese culture. In this deeply personal performance Ling shares the experience of growing up in China from the 1960s, before leaving in 1991, as the country entered a period of rapid change.

Join us for this specially created and intimate performance that promises to take us into the heart of Chinese heritage through storytelling.

Christian Women from the Cook Islands have compiled the service for 2025.

The service will be followed by refreshments, and everyone is most welcome – men, women and children.

The Day of Prayer is celebrated in over 146 countries. It begins in Samoa and prayer travels through the world, finishing in American Samoa some 38 hours later. For further information, with details of other local services, see  wwdp.org.uk
